    - ได้รับการส่งเสริมการเดินผ่านทางเท้าที่มีคุณภาพตามมาตรฐานอารยสถาปัตย์ (universal design) และการซ่อมแซมที่รวดเร็ว

การก่อสร้างทางเท้ากรุงเทพฯ หลายครั้งก่อสร้างผิดแบบและขาดความเข้าใจ เช่น ทางลาดที่ต้องใส่ใจในองศา กระเบื้องนำทางที่ต้องติดตั้งอย่างถูกต้อง นำทางได้จริง หรือขั้นตอนการสร้างทางเท้านั้นใช้วัสดุถูก ส่วนผสม หรือการอัดแน่นพื้นนั้นถูกต้องหรือไม่ 

การซ่อมทางเท้าที่ผ่านมานั้นมักแก้ปัญหาด้วยการราดยางมะตอยหรือปูนอันนำมาซึ่งปัญหาใหม่ คือทำให้ทางเท้านูน หรือบางกรณีก็ยังคงไม่มีการซ่อมแซม การเดินทางบนทางเท้าจึงมีอุปสรรคไม่ทางใดก็ทางหนึ่ง 

ดังนั้น กทม.จะเข้าไปยกระดับ ควบคุมทุกขั้นตอน ตั้งแต่

  1. รายละเอียดทุกขั้นตอนการก่อสร้างเพื่อให้ถูกต้องและตรงตามแบบที่สุด เช่น วัสดุที่นำมาจัดสร้าง ทางลาด ต้องลาดตามองศาที่ถูกต้อง เบรลล์บล็อกกระเบื้องนำทางผู้มีข้อจำกัดด้านการมองเห็นจะต้องติดตั้งถูกต้อง ฝาท่อจะต้องสมบูรณ์และเรียบเสมอทางเท้า ใช้งานได้จริง และจะไม่รับงานที่ไม่ได้ตามมาตรฐาน

  2. ให้ประชาชนช่วยแจ้งปัญหาทางเท้าผ่านฟองดูว์

  3. เมื่อเกิดเหตุต้องซ่อมแซมจะต้องซ่อมให้เร็วและมีคุณภาพ ซ่อมถึงต้นตอปัญหา โดย กทม.จะต้องเร่งรัดและติดตามให้ผู้รับเหมามาดำเนินการแก้ไขให้รวดเร็วที่สุด นอกจากนี้หากพังในระยะเวลาอันสั้นและไม่ได้เกิดจากปัจจัยอื่นๆ กทม.จะขึ้นบัญชีดำผู้รับเหมาไม่ให้ประมูลงานอีก

  4. การจัดการพื้นที่ก่อสร้างจะต้องติดป้ายเตือนชัดเจน ล้อมกั้นพื้นที่ก่อสร้างให้ชัดและเท่าที่จำเป็น จัดเก็บอุปกรณ์วัสดุก่อสร้างภายในพื้นที่เท่านั้น เบียดบังทางเดินสัญจรให้น้อยที่สุด และต้องไม่ก่อให้เกิดอันตรายต่อผู้ใช้ทาง

Construction of Bangkok sidewalks often came out wrong, and there has been a lack of understanding. For example, a ramp requires attention to the degree of incline, with guiding tiles that must be properly installed; or the construction of the sidewalk must use a proper mix of materials, and compacting method.

In the past, pavement repairs had often been done by pouring down asphalt or cement.  This brought about a new problem: the pavement would bulge or, in some cases, remained in disrepair, posing obstacles in one way or another to pedestrians.

So BMA will improve the process, and take control of every step starting from

  - Construction materials

  - Every detail of the construction process must be correct and exactly as designed. For example, the ramp must incline at the right angle. Braille blocks, and guiding tiles for visually impaired people must be properly installed, and practical.  Substandard work will not be approved.

  - When repair is needed, it must be done quickly, in good quality, and address the source of the problem. BMA must expedite the process and find the contractor to take action as soon as possible. In addition, if the repair is needed in a short period after the project completion and is not caused by other factors, BMA will blacklist the contractor and will not allow them to submit their bids again.
